Exit polls

Exit Poll is a poll of voters taken immediately after they have exited the polling stations. The main aim of exit poll is a parallel estimation of votes and providing an effective public control over electoral procedures.

Exit polls result not only in forecasting results and assessment of objectivity during the elections, but also in colleting statistical information about the body of electors. It is worth noting that only such kind of data may create a “portrait” of the electoral body of different parties or block of parties. Exit poll may provide additional information on the decision-making process of the voters, their degree of belief to the elections, and other information that may be used later to forecast electoral process.

When discussing the method of Exit Polls, our specialists underline four main stages:

  1. Sample forming (determination of sample size, allocation of survey points or electoral districts).
  2. Choosing a method of screening voters at the polling places.
  3. Collecting source information and transferring the data to the head office.
  4. Efficient analysis and results presentation.

Indispensable conditions of Exit Polls are accuracy, representativeness, and efficiency of data.
